Contact Policy

Effective Date: September 1, 2026
Last Updated: October 2, 2026

This Contact Policy explains how individuals, organizations, clients, prospective clients, collaborators, media representatives, vendors, creators, and other visitors may contact The Rice Collective LLC, doing business as The Rice Collective (“The Rice Collective,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), through thericecollective.org or related communication channels.

This Contact Policy should be read together with our:

1. General Contact

You may contact The Rice Collective for:

  • general questions;
  • business inquiries;
  • project inquiries;
  • collaboration requests;
  • media inquiries;
  • partnership discussions;
  • licensing inquiries;
  • accessibility requests;
  • privacy requests;
  • legal notices; and
  • other legitimate business communications.

2. Contacting Us Does Not Create a Business Relationship

Sending an email, form submission, message, inquiry, or other communication to The Rice Collective does not by itself create:

  • a client relationship;
  • an agency relationship;
  • an employment relationship;
  • a contractor relationship;
  • a fiduciary relationship;
  • a partnership;
  • a joint venture;
  • exclusivity;
  • a production commitment;
  • a licensing agreement;
  • a nondisclosure agreement; or
  • any obligation to provide services.

A formal business relationship exists only when The Rice Collective and the relevant party enter into an appropriate written agreement where one is required.

3. Do Not Send Sensitive Information Through Ordinary Contact Channels

Please do not send highly sensitive personal or confidential information through ordinary Website forms or email unless The Rice Collective specifically requests it and provides an appropriate method for transmission.

Examples include:

  • Social Security numbers;
  • full financial-account numbers;
  • passwords;
  • authentication codes;
  • government identification numbers;
  • medical records;
  • biometric information;
  • private encryption keys;
  • confidential legal documents;
  • highly sensitive business credentials; or
  • other information that could create an unreasonable security risk if transmitted through ordinary email.

If sensitive information is required for a legitimate business purpose, The Rice Collective may provide a more appropriate method for transmitting it.

4. Creative Materials and Pitches

The Rice Collective develops original stories, art, music, designs, characters, fictional worlds, publishing projects, animation, video, and other creative works.

Because we may independently develop material similar to ideas submitted by others, do not send confidential or proprietary creative material unless an appropriate written agreement is already in place.

Creative materials may include:

  • scripts;
  • stories;
  • character concepts;
  • artwork;
  • manga;
  • comic concepts;
  • treatments;
  • pitches;
  • music;
  • lyrics;
  • designs;
  • fictional worlds;
  • production concepts; or
  • other creative works.

Sending creative material through ordinary email or a Website contact form does not automatically create:

  • confidentiality;
  • an obligation to review;
  • an obligation to respond;
  • an obligation to compensate;
  • an obligation to purchase or license the material; or
  • an obligation to avoid independently developing similar ideas.

Ownership of original intellectual property you submit remains with you unless a separate written agreement states otherwise.

Additional rules concerning creative submissions are provided in our Terms of Use.

5. Project and Service Inquiries

For project or service inquiries, it is helpful to include:

  • your name;
  • organization or company, if applicable;
  • preferred contact information;
  • the type of project;
  • a short project description;
  • anticipated scope;
  • general timeline;
  • estimated budget range, if known; and
  • any other information reasonably necessary to understand the request.

Please do not send unnecessary sensitive personal data.

An inquiry is not a binding quote, contract, production schedule, or commitment.

Any project accepted by The Rice Collective should be governed by an appropriate written agreement, statement of work, proposal, production agreement, license, or other contract.

thericecollective@outlook.com

Subject:

Business Inquiry

The Rice Collective may request additional information before discussing a proposed relationship.

No partnership, agency, joint venture, or other business relationship is created until expressly agreed in writing.

14. Employment and Contractor Inquiries

Unless a position is expressly advertised as open, sending a résumé, portfolio, or employment inquiry does not create an obligation to review, interview, hire, or respond.

Applicants should not send:

  • Social Security numbers;
  • banking information;
  • copies of passports;
  • copies of driver’s licenses; or
  • other highly sensitive identification information

unless specifically requested at an appropriate stage of a legitimate hiring process.

Any employment or contractor relationship will be governed by applicable written agreements and law.

15. Vendor and Solicitation Communications

The Rice Collective may decline unsolicited sales, vendor, advertising, marketing, software, or service solicitations.

Sending a solicitation does not create an obligation to respond.

Automated, deceptive, abusive, or excessive solicitation may be filtered or blocked.

16. Response Times

We aim to review legitimate communications within a reasonable period.

Response times may vary depending on:

  • the type of request;
  • project workload;
  • complexity;
  • verification requirements;
  • legal obligations;
  • security concerns; or
  • the volume of communications received.

We do not guarantee a specific response time unless applicable law or a separate written agreement requires one.

Privacy requests, appeals, or other legally regulated communications will be handled according to applicable legal deadlines where those laws apply.

17. Spam and Malicious Communications

We may filter, block, quarantine, preserve, or delete communications that appear to contain:

  • spam;
  • phishing;
  • malware;
  • fraudulent content;
  • impersonation;
  • threats;
  • harassment;
  • malicious attachments;
  • automated abuse; or
  • unlawful content.

Where reasonably necessary, suspicious communications may be retained for security, fraud-prevention, investigation, legal, or recordkeeping purposes.

18. Records of Communications

The Rice Collective may retain legitimate business communications for periods reasonably necessary to:

  • respond to the communication;
  • maintain business records;
  • administer projects;

  • comply with applicable law;
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims; or
  • meet contractual or regulatory obligations.

Additional information is provided in our Privacy Policy.
